It was snowing just before Christmas, the time of joy and gifts but for the students and teachers of Junior High School in Rzepiennik were busy picking up the teaching aids. On Nov 13, 2010 an official ceremony of transferring the financial aid collected by the Lions in Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands took place in Rzepiennik to finance new equipment for the school renovated after the flood.
The Lions tranferred a symbolic check for 330 thou. PLN. The money will be spent on equipment to a computer lab, foreign language lab and the gym. The orders are being realized and the students cannot wait to start studying with the new aids.
After the official ceremony and a moving performance prepared by the students a plaque placed on the front outside wall of the building was unveiled. Fantastic atmosphere and hospitality accompanying the ceremony, the students’ joy and interest and clearly visible involvement of the principal, the teachers and the local authorities confirmed that Lions decision was right! Yes! Our help will be appreciated here.
The light motif of the ceremony ‘Gratefulness is the memory of the heart. There are angels among us. They are wingless but their hearts are a secure harbor for all those in need’ was well remembered by all the participants. Our motto, WE SERVE, gained a new meaning again.
